Complex Neurological Conditions for Younger & Older Adults
Tacolneston Lake, due to open November 2023, will comprise of four purpose-built homes, each providing full-time care for three, four or five residents (16 residents in total).
Within the house all bedrooms have access to their own ensuites and a communal lounge and kitchen diner. Along with the gardens and activity provision on site this will offer plenty of space to residents, providing safe living in a supportive environment.
The existing cottage onsite has been refurbished to provide an office and reception plus two bedrooms upstairs for use by family and friends to support transition or due to distance.
We have also created a purpose-built wellbeing centre with mock café, and recreational indoor and outdoor space for residents and their families, helping to support neural pathways.
The Care at Tacolneston Lake
The design and purpose of Tacolneston Lake is to provide specialist neurological care, this is particularly catered for those residents who cannot be supported in more traditional nursing homes due to their age, mobility or the level of challenging behaviour and complexity of their neurological conditions, which require a multidisciplinary team to assess, consult and act swiftly.
Neuropsychiatric and neuropsychological input is essential to monitor and adjust treatment plans in a coordinated and responsive way, due to the variability and unpredictability of residents. This enables us to offer a high level of care that is fit for purpose and meets resident’s needs.
This centre’s specialism is to support our residents in maximising independence so they can gain access to a quality of life like anyone else, in a non institutionalised homely environment.
